The Libertadores da América Cup final was shown for the first time on the SBT channel on January 30, broadcasting the match between Palmeiras x Santos at Maracanã. To mark the debut, the station launched the action O Torcedor Impossível, where the most emblematic postcard of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Cristo Redentor, can “watch” a football match for the first time.
Created by WMcCann and produced by Bizsys, the action placed a screen in front of the statue that is located on top of Corcovado Hill, inside the Tijuca National Park. The game between the two clubs in São Paulo was broadcast to Cristo and to those who visited the tourist spot.
“It is a historic event, which deserved a worthy fan. Christ is democratic, as football is for Brazilians. Both carry a huge load of emotion and beauty, worthy of a true national classic”, declares Priscila Stoliar, Head of Marketing at SBT.
